Web design refers to the development and design of the web interface: the interactional architecture, organization of the pages, the tree and navigating of the website. The design of a web design takes into account the constraints of the Internet media, especially in terms of ergonomics, usability and accessibility.

Web design requires a variety of skills: programming, usability and interactivity, and a good knowledge of the technical constraints associated with this field: diversity of web terminals and their views, accessibility, characteristics of different languages and processes portability, compliance with W3C recommendations.

Web design of a site includes the creation of a functional model with technical specifications: ergonomics, graphic design, corporate identity, marketing, interactivity.

As part of a business website, web design is defined according to the objectives set for it:

  • For corporate website: the first objective is to increase the visibility of the offer and brand. The sub-goals in web design are validating the readability of the identity of the company, improving the quality of traffic, facilitating the creation of a relationship between visitors and the web site (has to optimize the response time of pages).

  • For e-commerce web site: the first objective is to turn visits into sales. The first key performance indicator (KPI) assigned to web design is to reduce the dropout rate of the basket.

  • For landing pages: The goal of landing page is to capture a visitor to various sub goals: feeding a database mail suspects, prospects, demand for pre-qualified contacts, etc. Three tasks are assigned to web design: access time, consistency of message between the one who captures the visitor and that of the landing page in a goal to have maximum traffic, adaptation of input form the target for have a minimum number of drop forms.
