From the time when the kangaroos live in paradise, their front legs were as long as those from behind.
But, because of this length of their legs, kangaroos became extremely robbers. They only had to reach out and grab the branches and pick the best fruit, then they burrowed into the large pocket that they carry on the belly.
So they stripped the trees of paradise.
The other beasts, who could not do so, complained to God.
The good Lord brought before him kangaroos and, in order to be more difficult for them to steal the fruit, He shortens their front legs.
Since that time, the kangaroos have these stumps you see in the picture, and they use the pocket of belly to hide their young only.
