Join Our Community of Academic Reviewers

An invitation to researchers, university faculty, and specialists

The quality of an academic journal depends fundamentally on the contribution of researchers and specialists who participate in the peer-review process. Peer review is not merely a stage in the editorial process; it is one of the principal mechanisms through which the academic community evaluates, improves, and strengthens research.

The academic journals published by MultiMedia Publishing invite researchers, university faculty, and specialists with relevant professional or academic expertise to join our community of volunteer peer reviewers.

Why become a reviewer?

Peer reviewing gives you the opportunity to contribute directly to the quality of published research and to the development of academic dialogue in your field of expertise.

As a reviewer, you can:

  • contribute to maintaining the scientific, academic, and ethical standards of our publications;
  • participate actively in evaluating and improving research in your field;
  • engage with recent research before its publication;
  • support authors through constructive comments, recommendations, and assessments;
  • further develop your experience in critical analysis and the evaluation of academic manuscripts;
  • document your peer-review activities in your CV and academic portfolio, subject to the requirements of the relevant institution or evaluation system;
  • receive digital certificates documenting your completed peer-review activities.

How does the collaboration work?

Joining our reviewer community does not require you to accept every review invitation or to complete a minimum number of reviews.

Invitations are sent according to the reviewer’s declared areas of expertise and the subject matter of the manuscript. For each invitation, reviewers are free to decide whether the manuscript falls within their expertise and whether they have sufficient time to undertake the review.

The editorial process is managed through Open Journal Systems (OJS). Our journals use double-anonymous peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to one another during the review process.

We seek rigorous, independent, balanced, and constructive reviews, aimed both at assessing the academic quality of a manuscript and at identifying ways in which it can be improved.

Recognition of your contribution – Digital Peer Review Certificates

Peer reviewing is a voluntary and unpaid activity, but we believe that this contribution to the academic community should be recognized and documented.

We therefore offer reviewers the opportunity to have their activity certified at two levels:

Level 1 – Digital Peer Review Certificate

For each completed review, the reviewer may request a Digital Peer Review Certificate, issued by the journal and digitally signed. The certificate confirms that an academic review has been completed for the journal without disclosing the title, authors, or any other confidential information concerning the manuscript reviewed.

Level 2 – Annual Peer Review Activity Certificate

Reviewers who complete one or more reviews during a calendar year may request an Annual Peer Review Activity Certificate, confirming their participation in the editorial process and the total number of reviews completed for the journal during that year.

These certificates may be used to document academic and professional activities, including in CVs, academic portfolios, or professional dossiers, subject to the rules and criteria of the institution to which they are submitted.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from researchers, university faculty, and specialists with relevant professional expertise in the fields covered by our journals.

Previous experience as a peer reviewer is an advantage but is not mandatory. What matters most is demonstrable expertise in the stated field, critical analytical ability, independence of judgment, respect for confidentiality, and adherence to the principles of academic ethics.

We also welcome applications from early-career and mid-career researchers who have the academic background and research experience required to evaluate manuscripts responsibly.

A community of specialists, not a permanent obligation

Our aim is to build a broad and diverse community of reviewers so that review requests can be distributed appropriately according to each reviewer’s expertise.

Joining our reviewer community does not create a permanent obligation towards the journal. You decide whether to accept each invitation, taking into account the subject of the manuscript, any potential conflicts of interest, and your availability.

We invite you to join us

If you are a researcher, university faculty member, or specialist in a relevant field and believe that you can contribute to the responsible evaluation of academic work, we invite you to join our reviewer community.

Through your contribution, you support not only the quality of our journals and the improvement of the manuscripts you review, but also the broader process through which research is evaluated, discussed, and strengthened before becoming part of the academic literature.

Contribute to research quality. Share your expertise. Join our academic reviewer community.
