European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of poker tournaments.
EPT starts in 2004 with the explosion of Texas Hold’em in particular on the Internet. The competition was created by John Duthie, a former professional poker player.
EPT is sponsored by PokerStars, offering a wide selection of online tournaments to participate in EPT, including free tournaments.
The tournament is televised in 31 countries and regularly touch 974.1 million viewers.
Each stage of the EPT is broadcast live and in full on the Poker Stars Live site.
In 2014, in season 10, Victoria Coren Mitchell became the first person to win two EPT winning San Remo EPT after the London EPT Season 3.
In August 2015, the season 12 starts with two records broken for the Main Event: 1 694 entries and an endowment of € 8,215,900 for the stage in Barcelona.
On August 24, 2016, PokerStars announced that as of early 2017, all series of tournaments will be merged into the PokerStars Championship and PokerStars Festival.
