The no-limit poker is a structure widely used in tournaments and cash games. The bets and raises are free (a no-limit table is characterized by its blinds because the bets of the limit tables do not exist), which promotes the bluff. A player can even bet all he had at one time. Then it is said all-in. If a player there is another player who bet more than the all-in of the first, there is creating a side pot. Indeed, one can only play up to its own stake.
Example
Myc has 300 €, Don 200 €, Joey 100 €, Will € 50. Myc put € 200 and the other three followed, they are all-in → creation of three pots since Joey and Will does not have enough funds:

The pots are distributed according to the ranking of hands at showdown, the maximum amount that players can expect to win:

Ante
The ante is a small entry fee to the pot, bet before getting cards by all players at the table (Small Blind and Big Blind included). It is a kind of tax to receive his cards. Antes are used in tournaments when the blinds are starting to become significant, to further accelerate the pace of play (higher pot size) without increasing too much the proportion of the reminders compared to the stakes.
