Some days before the Austria Finance Minister, Wilhelm Molterer, just visited Romania, and about a month ago the biggest steel producer from Austria told that “although we increased the production capacity for the plant in Linz, we cannot cover the request and we think to build the second plant, at the Black Sea”. There it is a rumor that the new plant will have an annual production capacity of five millions tones and it will be launched in 2012.
The investor takes into consideration three possible areas in Romania, three in Ukraine, and two in Bulgaria, but till the end of this year it has to be selected three areas only for the final decision.
Such an investment will make Romania within the first six steel producer from the European Union, says Petru Ianc.
