Banner ads are there to promote any service, allowing the user clicks on it to go directly to the area of the advertised site.
They consist of a flash, image or movie, through a link referring the user to the target site.
Sometimes not appreciated by users due to congestion they generate on a web page, they see now in competition with technologies such as IntelliTXT or adLeave which only unfolds when the user leaves the page he visited.
The sizes of banners follow a “standard” set by the IAB: International Advertising Bureau.
