Google AdSense referrals changes

Google AdSenseAdSense referrals will no longer be offering the $5 bonus or $2000 bonus, it will return to the original payout structure. European publishers could no longer promote this product. One reason can be for Google to cut down on signups from countries that AdSense doesn’t see as great performers, due to oversupply of publishers, lack of relevant AdWords advertisers, or the recent complaints by AdSense/AdWords users regarding unfair treatment in the light of currency exchange disadvantage. The Google AdSense blog says that

  • If you’re in North America, Latin America, or Japan, the pricing structure for AdSense referrals is changing. These pricing changes will take place during the last week of January.
  • If you’re outside of North America, Latin America, and Japan, AdSense referrals will be retired. The reason invoked by Google is that this referral product has not performed as well as we had hoped in these regions.
