In poker, a head-up display, or HUD, is a tool to get information about the other players present on a table and on his own game.
Utility
The system is used by professionals and increasingly by amateur, HUDs dedicated to poker is used to collect valuable statistics. They are often accompanied by a “Tracker”.
Solution
This system gradually arrived in Europe and is already widely used in the US. Some website have now banned this type of software because it provides real help to players.
Generally offered statistics
- VPIP (Voluntary Put Money In Pot): This is the percentage of shots in which you voluntarily invest money. Flops seen as having big blind being checked so do not count. This figure is used to determine if a player is loose or tight.
- PFR (Preflop Raise): This is the percentage of shots in which you enter in raising preflop.
- AF: It’s aggression. It is calculated by establishing a ratio between checks, call, fold, bet, raise. It is not a percentage. Common values are between 0 and 5. A zero is dealing with a very passive player, from 2 and more is an aggressive player.
